Leveraging 17 Years of Experience, Howson to Lead zColo’s Growth Initiatives

LOUISVILLE, Colo.– June 21, 2010 – Zayo Colocation, Inc. (zColo), a network-neutral colocation and interconnection services provider, announced today that David Howson will join the company as President.  He will lead zColo’s growth initiatives, executing a plan that leverages Zayo Group’s technical facilities.   David will report to Dan Caruso, President and CEO of Zayo Group.

“I’ve worked with David at MFS Communications and Level 3 Communications.  He is a results-driven leader with great expertise in the colocation business,” stated Caruso.  “It will be good working with him again.”

zColo is the exclusive operator of the 60 Hudson Street Meet-Me-Room, and offers colocation in 60 Hudson as well as in 111 8th Avenue in New York City, and 165 Halsey Street in New Jersey.  Over time, Zayo expects to add colocation inventory through both organic expansion and opportunistic acquisitions.

David has 17 years telecommunications experience and was most recently Senior Vice President of Customer Service Management, Customer and Network Operations at Level 3 Communications.  In this role David oversaw operations of colocation services, including customer service, network monitoring and maintenance.  He was also responsible for the design and build of more than 15 Colocation Centers totaling more than 300,000 sq ft of space.  Prior to that, David held a number of leadership roles where he was responsible for access management, M&A integrations, network and infrastructure planning and development, and network and facility construction in Asia, Europe, and North America.    David earned his Engineering Degree with Honors from Oxford Brookes University in 1993.
