SUNNYVALE, Calif., June 22, 2010 — Juniper Networks® announced today that Bresnan Communications has deployed Juniper’s solutions for its next-generation MPLS network, consolidating its network into a converged system capable of supporting new feature-rich subscriber services. Bresnan has deployed a combination of MX480 Universal Edge Routers coupled with Junos® to properly scale and manage traffic to support periods of various loads of network activity.
“The combination of Juniper’s MPLS features and the opportunity for future growth with the MX Series is why we selected Juniper for our customer-focused business,” said Pragash Pillai, senior vice president of engineering and technology, Bresnan Communications.
Bresnan’s selection is a continuation of their deployment of Juniper Networks solutions, including MX480 Edge Routers’ diverse set of MPLS-rich features and the stability of the Junos operating system. In addition, Juniper’s SRX Series Services Gateways can allow Bresnan to integrate an additional layer of security to its growing network infrastructure.
“Subscribers are demanding new applications and enhanced bandwidth-intensive services, which require a new network architecture optimized to deliver a media-rich experience today and in the future,” said Mike Marcellin, vice president of product marketing, Juniper Networks. “Bresnan’s migration to a next-generation converged network gives them a competitive edge, focused on providing their customers with an ongoing stream of advanced services.”
