Los Angeles, California, 5/12/2010 – Toshiba America Information Systems Inc., Telecommunication Systems Division (Toshiba — www.telecom.toshiba.com) and TelePacific Communications today announced the certification of interoperability of SmartVoice, TelePacific’s dynamic Session Initiation Protocol trunking solution with Toshiba’s family of Strata® CIX™ IP business communication systems. SmartVoice is now available from Authorized Toshiba Dealers to customers in California and Nevada.
“The SmartVoice solution offers users of Toshiba Strata CIX VoIP business communication systems a compelling combination — Toshiba’s enterprise telephony capabilities and cost-effective telephone and Internet services,” said Shahin Hatamian, vice president of Product Management for Toshiba America Information Systems, Telecommunication Systems Division.
“We are pleased to offer our customers the ability to implement SmartVoice with Toshiba’s Strata CIX,” said David Zahn, vice president of Marketing for TelePacific Communications. “TelePacific strives to provide its customers with the products, services, and partnerships they need to be successful, and this is one more example of that commitment.”
“The certification of SmartVoice with the Strata CIX is a tremendous advantage for Toshiba system owners with CIX40 systems,” said Ben Stiegler, CEO of SynerTel. “Now even small businesses with as few as four lines can enjoy true direct numbers per employee, department, or language-of-interaction — without the need for larger-scale PRI technology.”
TelePacific conducted field tests with Authorized Toshiba Dealers SynerTel and ATS Communications as the final step to complete interoperability certification.
“The knowledge of the Toshiba Dealers is a key success factor for developing best practices for installing SIP Trunks with an IP PBX,” said Zahn. “SynerTel equipped the TelePacific QA laboratory with a Toshiba CIX system and both SynerTel and ATS provided valuable feedback to TelePacific which has been used to improve operational practices for installing the service.”
“The integration of TelePacific’s SmartVoice and the Toshiba Strata CIX system provides ‘best practice solutions’ by blending best technologies from industry leaders Toshiba and TelePacific, resulting in an all-around positive experience for the customer,” said John Zeller, president of ATS Communications. “We are proud to be a part of this certification process and are excited to share this technology combination with local businesses and show them how this offering can give their businesses a competitive advantage and make a positive impact on their bottom lines. This a true win for Toshiba, TelePacific, and the end user.”
“This certification confirms that Toshiba’s Strata CIX VoIP systems and SmartVoice can work seamlessly together, providing enterprises with added confidence in their telephone service and equipment,” added Eric Abing, product manager, Toshiba America Information Systems, Telecommunication Systems Division.
About SmartVoice
TelePacific’s SmartVoice services offer traditional and next generation network connections with dynamic voice and data integration in 1.5M increments up to 6.0M, significantly increasing the effective bandwidth with optimum throughput and efficiency. SmartVoice Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) services use an advanced telephony platform for call control and voice features. This redundant platform resides in the core of TelePacific’s private IP network, delivering SIP-based voice from customer premises to the PSTN. Likewise, the SIP-based service terminates at the customer premises and can be converted to a traditional voice interface — PRI/CAS/ Analog — with a TelePacific-managed gateway or delivered directly as SIP to the LAN. These flexible network connection options support both traditional existing telephony equipment and next-generation IP PBXs.
SmartVoice uses the dynamic capabilities of SIP technology and “bonding” to provide the voice services customers need while increasing the data bandwidth available to improve employee productivity. It includes:
