New Multi-Service Relationship Enables Level 3 and GlobeNet to Meet Rising Bandwidth Demands in South America
BROOMFIELD, Colo., May 26, 2010 — Level 3 Communications, Inc. (NYSE:LVLT, news, filings) today announced that the company has established a multi-service relationship with GlobeNet, an international provider of submarine cable transmission capacity, to enable Level 3 and GlobeNet to offer transport and high-speed Internet services to satisfy the growth in communications demand in South America.
Through the relationship, Level 3 will be able to offer its high-speed Internet protocol (HSIP) services packaged with GlobeNet’s sub-sea cable capacity on routes between South America and North America. GlobeNet will be able to offer its sub-sea cable capacity packaged with Level 3’s HSIP services.

The combination of GlobeNet’s sub-sea, low-latency network and Level 3’s HSIP services allows Level 3 and GlobeNet to enhance their ability to meet the rising demand for Internet and data capacity in South America as well as offer broad service packages to their respective customers across North America, South America, and Europe.
