Resorts World Sentosa Deploys Complete Juniper Solution for Consistently High Internal Security and Remote Access
SINGAPORE, April 1, 2010 — Juniper Networks® (NASDAQ:JNPR, news, filings), the leader in high-performance networking, today announced that Resorts World Sentosa Private Limited (RWS) has selected a portfolio of Juniper Networks security solutions to protect its information infrastructure. Resorts World Sentosa is a 49-hectare integrated gaming and tourist development on Singapore’s holiday island of Sentosa. In addition to its casino, Resorts World Sentosa includes six hotels, Universal Studios Singapore, Marine Life Park and a museum of maritime history.
“It almost goes without saying that a casino’s network traffic is extremely confidential,” said Mr. Yap Chee Yuen, senior vice president and head of information technology, Resorts World Sentosa. “But low latency is also a top priority for the modern casino. Today, our gaming facilities include realtime content and other time-sensitive transactional traffic. So we need a solution that can deliver superior performance with no compromise in network security. The Juniper solutions meet these crucial criteria, while also giving us a low total-cost-of-ownership and highly versatile management options.”
Juniper Networks solutions deployed at Resorts World Sentosa are modular, chassis-based systems that deliver comprehensive high-availability and can be partitioned into multiple security domains. These are complemented by intrusion detection and prevention appliances that guard against a wide rage of potential network attacks. In addition, Resorts World is making use of Juniper Networks’ market-leading SSL VPN platform to fulfill its remote access requirements.Resorts World Sentosa controls this sophisticated infrastructure through Juniper’s integrated network and security management software, which enables granular security policy configuration and consistent policy implementation across all devices. It also provides network managers with comprehensive monitoring, investigation and reporting tools.
“The need for highly secure and responsive communications infrastructure is pervasive throughout our modern business culture,” said Wendy Koh, vice president of ASEAN, Juniper Networks. “It is becoming evident that a high-performance network is not only a key enabler for enterprises such as Resorts World Sentosa, but that the success of the business depends on the quality of the traffic security and handling. We are pleased that our network security solutions are recognized by the market for their innovation and excellent economics.”
