TOKYO, JAPAN – NTT Communications (NTT Com) announces today the start of a solution for video-based mobile advertising that enables companies to maximize the reach of their advertising campaigns among mobile-oriented consumers. The one-stop B2B2C solution, named the Commercial Film Distribution Service for Mobile Users, provides planning and construction of mobile sites, redirection of consumers to these websites to view advertisements, outcome analysis and more.
According to “Research for Information and Media Society 2010” published by Diamond, Inc., people from age 50 are the main viewers of television, the conventional advertising channel for commercial films. Advertisers who wish to maximize the reach of their ad campaigns are now looking to the mobile web as a more effective channel for reaching younger audiences. For many companies, however, the development of a comprehensive mobile-web solution presents both financial and technical challenges.
NTT Com’s new solution solves the problem by offering a one-stop suite of services to enable companies to quickly and easily begin leveraging the power of the mobile web for video-based advertising on a highly cost-effective basis.
The solution supports all 3G mobile phones, as well as the iPhone™, and delivery is optimized for each type of handset to ensure a maximized user experience. Compatibility with other smartphone models is planned.
The basic one-stop solution includes planning and constructing the customer’s mobile website and managing the video-distribution server. Several optional services are available, such as:
- online questionnaires to survey consumers about the company’s products or services,
- giveaways, such as standby-screen videos and simple games, as tools for branding and visitor retention, and
- QR Codes (two-dimension bar codes) to attract newspaper/magazine readers and also generate outcome analysis though tracking.
NTT Com’s new mobile advertising solution also measures, analyzes and reports both click-through rates from other websites and the results of optional services.
The solution can be linked to other popular mobile websites to redirect users to the customer’s mobile website. Users pay per click rather than per impression, starting as low as 10.5 yen (including tax), which many advertisers will find to be highly cost-effective. The cost of developing and launching a mobile website starts from 262,500 yen. Video distribution, however, is free.
