Buenos Aires, Argentina.- Global Crossing (NASDAQ: GLBC), a leading global IP solutions provider, today announced that it has been re-certified as a SAP® Hosting Partner and SAP-Certified Provider of Hosting Services in Chile.  The company received this certification from SAP, a leading worldwide supplier in business software solutions, for its ability to deliver high-quality hosting services from its data center in Santiago.

SAP granted the accreditation to Global Crossing after the company successfully met a rigorous review process that assessed the company’s infrastructure, processes and technical staff.  By reaffirming its position as an SAP partner, Global Crossing continues to be fully compliant with SAP’s requirements for quality, availability and security.

“This re-certification underscore Global Crossing’s commitment to providing world-class communications and IT services to our customers, based on the industry’s best practices,” said Leonardo Barbero, senior vice president of products and marketing for Global Crossing Latin America.  “We are now able to manage, host and implement SAP applications for our customers in strategic markets in Latin America.”

Every two years, all SAP hosting partners go through a review process to evaluate their compliance with requirements for service delivery, incident management capabilities, support and information availability, as well as customer relations.

Application hosting includes the operation and maintenance of an application in a data center, as well as the complete hosting services portfolio for the SAP Business Suite, which includes infrastructure, implementation, operations and support.  Implementation hosting covers the execution of SAP solutions, ranging from complete solution implementation to incorporation of new functionality for a solution that is already installed or updates of SAP solutions versions.

“With this re-certification we’re enhancing the value-added solutions we offer to the corporate market.  These solutions integrate a global network, world-class data center infrastructure, and managed services,” added Barbero.

“Through their partners, SAP delivers hosting services, application management services, and value-added solutions for all those customers who rely on SAP partners for the operation of their businesses,” stated Guillermo Drapañoti, Director for Ecosystem & Partner Group of SAP Multi-Country Latin America.  “These re-certifications confirm Global Crossings´ continued commitment to deliver services with the quality, availability and security standards required by SAP for their customers.

Global Crossing solutions allow clients to focus on their business, while the company manages their technology platforms and communications.  These  solutions provide data center space, equipment, storage, security back-up and monitoring, as well as managed services that free clients from the task of managing their applications (ERP, collaboration solutions, middleware, virtualization and databases among others) or maintaining their websites.

In 2005, Global Crossing became the first company in Latin America to be certified as an SAP Hosting Partner, and since then has continued with this procedure, increasing the number of data centers and continuously renewing the certifications obtained.  Global Crossing has the most SAP certified data centers in Latin America.

Additionally, Global Crossing was selected in 2009 for the SAP Business Partner Acknowledgment Program Pinnacle Awards as a finalist in the Regional IT Outsourcing category, the only company in Latin America to have qualified as a finalist in this category.
