Epsilon Expands Its North American Connectivity Presence With Telx

U.K.-based Global Service Provider’s Point of Presence (PoP) in Telx’s Carrier-Rich 60 Hudson Colocation Facility Enables European Carrier Customers to Connect Seamlessly Within the U.S.

Key Highlights:

  • Epsilon, a global connectivity solutions provider, has established a secure Point of Presence (PoP) within Telx’s 60 Hudson Street location in New York City, helping them deliver reliability, resilience and low-latency Trans-Atlantic connections for their carrier customers.
  • By leveraging Telx’s carrier-neutral, connection rich colocation facility, Epsilon is reducing direct connectivity costs for its European telecom customers.

New York, NY (April 20, 2010)Telx®, a leading interconnection and colocation provider in strategic North American markets, today announced that Epsilon, a global service provider of network connectivity services, has established a Point of Presence (PoP) within Telx’s 60 Hudson St. colocation facility. Epsilon’s PoP in New York City allows carriers and service providers in the same interconnection facility to gain secure, direct connectivity to any of Epsilon’s destinations and connected carriers worldwide, all via a single cross-connection. Due to its strategic location, the PoP is a key connectivity hub for Epsilon, enabling cost-effective and low-latency connectivity to the company’s other network locations throughout Asia, Europe and North America.

“We evaluated several other interconnection and colocation providers in New York City before selecting Telx. Because Epsilon is completely carrier neutral, it was crucial that our interconnection partner in the U.S. was operating on a similar business model,” said Andreas Hipp, CEO of Epsilon. “Telx met that key requirement of carrier neutrality, while also offering the most strategic Trans-Atlantic connectivity location at 60 Hudson, and the broadest carrier and ISP ecosystem, providing us with over 290 connectivity choices via a simple cross-connection.”

Epsilon provides global connectivity solutions between all major regional telecommunications hubs, such as London, Singapore, Hong Kong, NY and Miami, to facilitate global voice and data communications for carrier customers in more than 25 countries. Reliability, resilience, customer service and speed of delivery are key differentiators against their competitors. Establishing key PoPs in the Unites States is part of Epsilon’s strategy to become a leading international connectivity provider for the international voice telephony exchange, as well as in global connectivity for SDH, Ethernet and MPLS services.

“We are pleased that Epsilon finds so much value in its carrier-neutral PoP at 60 Hudson,” said Eric Shepcaro, CEO of Telx. “This location is in high demand by global companies such as Epsilon who are in need of a secure, low latency interconnection facility that gives them the flexibility and choice in carrier connectivity they require to offer international customers the best in telecommunications solutions.”

Telx will be an exhibitor at INTEROP LAS VEGAS, April 25-29, 2010 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center, at Interop Show Booth #859.
