Denver, CO – April 12, 2010 – CoreSite, a leading data center, colocation and peering provider, announces today its “CloudCommunity” initiative at the company’s Bay Area data center in Milpitas and Los Angeles data center at 900 N. Alameda.
The program features a multi-regional, interconnected cloud testing environment as well as an interactive forum for cloud-related innovation and thought leadership. CoreSite will provide participants with data center space, power, cooling, security, and connectivity via the Any2 Internet exchange. Bandwidth will be provided free of charge, courtesy of InfoRelay, an enterprise-level managed service provider. InfoRelay, an existing CoreSite customer in multiple data centers, also recently expanded at its presence by 50 cabinets at CoreSite’s Northern Virginia data center.
CoreSite’s CloudCommunity will allow companies to test service models and improve their “clouds” with respect to geographic load balancing, disaster recovery models, on-demand processing and storage, and energy efficiency.
“We have commissioned our cloud-based testing framework and began testing in March 2010,” stated Dave Clark, president of Red Peak, a provider of grid computing solutions. “We are excited to see the results from this program and look forward to playing a significant role in the thought leadership forum.”
Point-to-point connectivity will be available from Milpitas to Los Angeles via CoreSite’s Any2 Internet exchange, delivering a multi-regional test environment for companies choosing to engage in this manner. Participants will be posting feedback on the CloudCommunity public forum, located at http://www.CoreSite.com/blog/CloudCommunity/. The forum is open for comments from all companies with an expertise or interest in cloud computing initiatives.
