BTI Systems to Enable Simple, High-Capacity Infrastructure to Provide Competitive Advantage for Denver Businesses
LOUISVILLE, Colo. & OTTAWA, Ontario, March 10, 2010 – Zayo Enterprise Networks, a fiber-based communications provider, today announced it is adding 100 miles of new fiber routes in Denver to interconnect high bandwidth enterprises and provide dedicated access to IP services throughout the metro area. To power this new network, Zayo Enterprise Networks will use packet optical and Carrier Ethernet solutions from BTI Systems to offer speeds of 1 GB and higher creating one of the largest and most advanced metro-fiber networks within the region. Together, Zayo Enterprise Networks and BTI Systems address market demand for rapid delivery of high-performance, high-capacity services that unlock the metro connectivity for software companies, hospitals, school districts and government agencies throughout Denver.
The need for simple, high-bandwidth connectivity is rapidly growing, and shared, switched Ethernet products can no longer meet the demanding requirements of large, distributed enterprises. Recognizing this need for a simple alternative to incumbent service provider offerings, Zayo Enterprise Networks and BTI Systems have come together to deliver a comprehensive portfolio to address enterprise technical and business requirements over a low-latency, metro-fiber backbone. These services will be delivered with the BTI 7000 Series packet optical platform, integrating both advanced wavelength and packet-oriented service delivery functionality, and the BTI 700 Series, for intelligent, Carrier Ethernet-based demarcation and aggregation of Ethernet and IP services, as service-delivery vehicles. Public-sector, enterprise and wholesale customers will have access to a set of services designed to keep costs down, expedite service provisioning and simplify the network interconnection.
“As a bandwidth infrastructure provider for enterprise customers, Zayo is leading the market in providing simple solutions for today’s networks.” said John Real, VP of the Colorado Region for Zayo Enterprise Networks. “With Zayo, the metro-transport network is no longer a barrier to IT projects for disaster recovery, data replication, telemedicine and even virtual desktop deployments.”
“Zayo Enterprise’s mission is to be responsive to customers and provide customer network solutions that are straightforward and easy to deploy, integrate and leverage.” said Glenn Thurston, VP Global Marketing, BTI Systems, Inc. “BTI Systems’ one platform approach will allow customers to scale with demand and deliver the operational simplicity that empowers Zayo’s service value. We are pleased to be Zayo’s partner in providing the high-capacity, low-latency network that’s enhancing business communications and making Denver businesses more competitive on the global stage.”
