Level 3 Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ: LVLT) today announced that it has been selected to provide voice and high-speed IP services to QuamTel, Inc.’s (QUMI.OB) subsidiary WQN, Inc., a Dallas-based provider of international calling cards distributed over the Internet.
Under the contract, Level 3 is providing WQN with toll-free IP and local inbound services, which facilitate the delivery of VoIP’s service to businesses and consumers with broadband connections. Level 3 also will provide WQN with high-speed Internet access with network connectivity up to 10 Gigabits per second.

For 12 years, WQN has provided prepaid, postpaid, toll-free and broadband telephony services. WQN was one of the first companies to make international calling available to consumers via the Internet.
