Colt, a leading provider of business communications and IT managed services, has confirmed the cornerstone of its strategy; to be Europe’s leading information delivery platform.
Rakesh Bhasin, Colt’s CEO, confirmed the company’s strategy as part of his announcement of Colt’s annual results and business highlights for 2009. Despite challenging economic conditions, Colt maintained its market leading position in Ethernet services along with the creation of a new long distance network and the successful launch of the company’s IT managed services division.
Bhasin highlighted how Colt has been evolving from a traditional telecommunications provider into a company that offers integrated computing and network services. This evolution ensures Colt not only provides voice and data services, but also creates solutions which take full advantage of its unique network and data centre assets and its growing IT managed services capability.
Bhasin said, “Faced with new and ever more complex business challenges, our customers are asking us to do more to help them with IT-enabled transformation. In response to this, Colt has focused on bringing together key areas of our business to deliver reduced capital expenditure and greater flexibility and control for our customers.”
He explained how Colt’s evolution to becoming Europe’s leading information delivery platform uses the company’s unrivalled business-focused network, assets and expertise. This enables its customers to deliver, share, process and store vital business information. The information delivery platform brings together three key elements:
1. Pioneering European Ethernet and IP networks that seamlessly connect over 100 cities and achieves the industry’s highest standards in performance, latency and security
2. Significant IT infrastructure and services across Europe, with 19 state-of-the-art data centres
3. Extensive expertise in creating integrated IT managed services, networking and communication solutions.
