Covad Announces Enhanced Integrated Access Service

Scale from 4 to 56 phone lines with broadband speeds ranging from 1.5 Mbps to 6.0 Mbps over Bonded T1

San Jose, Calif. – March 1, 2010 – Covad Communications Company, a leading national provider of voice and data communications, today announced its enhanced Integrated Access service with options for more phone lines and higher-speed T1 Internet connections up to 6.0 Mbps, expanding the service’s target market upwards to businesses with up to 500 employees.

“Covad Integrated Access service provides small to medium-sized businesses with a single, affordable, integrated voice and data service that is simple to understand and use,” said Jake Heinz, vice president and general manager, Covad VoIP. “It works with customers’ existing phone systems and is now even more scalable to grow with their businesses.”

Covad Integrated Access combines business-class voice and high-speed Internet over a single T1 or bonded T1 circuit. The service prioritizes voice traffic and optimizes broadband speeds by dynamically allocating bandwidth between voice and data.

In addition to the new Bonded T1 options, Covad has made its long distance calling plans more cost effective by including inbound toll-free minutes. Covad has also increased cost savings by extending its unlimited local calling to cover the entire local access and transport areas (LATA). Calls are also free between all customer locations that have Covad Integrated Access.

The new service includes several enhancements to its online systems, including quote editing after contract acceptance and other ease-of-use improvements. An online tool included with Covad Integrated Access service lets customers make changes to their service: add/disconnect phone lines, change calling plans, add/disconnect phone numbers, and order toll-free numbers.

Covad Integrated Access utilizes SIP trunking and supports most digital and analog PBX systems. For a complete list of compatible phone systems, see http://support.covad.net/web/resources/legal/docs/covad_ia_pbx_list.pdf.
