Colt appoints Carl Robertson as Chief Marketing Officer

Colt, a leading provider of business communications and IT managed services, has appointed Carl Robertson as Chief Marketing Officer. In this role, Robertson will be responsible for the creation and management of Colt’s marketing strategy. His focus will be on the effective delivery of the new Colt brand and its market proposition.

Robertson joined Colt in October 2007 as Director of Marketing and Product for the SME Division. He was responsible for establishing Colt as a leading provider of advanced information communication technology (ICT) services to small and medium sized organisations across Europe. His key responsibilities included developing and delivering a new digital channel to market and transforming Colt’s partner programme.

Commenting on the appointment, Rakesh Bhasin, Colt’s Chief Executive Officer, said: “Carl is a hugely accomplished marketeer. He has developed global initiatives which have consistently delivered tangible business results – including his recent success in launching the new Colt digital channel to market. His aptitude for devising compelling value propositions, customer insights and original campaigns make him the ideal candidate to move the business forward.”

Prior to joining Colt, Robertson held a number of senior sales and marketing positions covering residential, SME and MNC markets. As Director of Marketing and Sales programmes at Orange Business Services, Robertson was responsible for driving the services transformation. Robertson has also held positions at Equant, including Head of Global Sales Strategy and Director of Global Product Marketing.
