Level 3 Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ: LVLT) today announced the hiring of Daniel Sjoberg as vice president of Strategy, Business Development and Marketing for European Markets. Sjoberg is based at the company’s European headquarters in London and reports to James Heard, president of European Markets. Sjoberg brings more than 20 years of experience in telecommunications and strategy to Level 3.
“Daniel is a strong addition to the European Markets team, bringing a wealth of knowledge in telecommunications, technology and extensive experience in Europe, the Middle East and Africa,” said Heard. “In addition, he has a valuable knowledge of markets in which Level 3 will look to develop connections in 2010.”

Prior to joining the European Markets team, Sjoberg spent more than a decade with TeliaSonera, most recently as head of the company’s International Carrier’s Strategy & Business Development. Sjoberg was responsible for the company’s international expansion strategies, business development, new ventures and strategic alliances.
