SUNNYVALE, CA, Jan 22, 2010 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) — Infinera (NASDAQ:INFN, news, filings) has achieved TL 9000 registration for its major facilities in the US and India, confirmation of the world-class standards applied by Infinera to all its operations throughout the Infinera supply chain. TL 9000 is a demanding international standard for quality processes in the telecommunications industry, including requirements for all major management and measurement systems.
Infinera’s TL 9000 registration represents a continuing emphasis on customer relationships, reliability of products and services, enhanced product life cycle, tracking customer requirements through design and development, telecom specific performance measurements, service requirements, benchmarking data, comprehensive disaster recovery and long-term commitment to continuous improvement. The achievement of this certification demonstrates that Infinera systems meet the quality and reliability needs of the world’s most demanding telecom networks.
“We are proud to achieve TL 9000 certification, evidence of Infinera’s commitment to build a sustained world class business around our innovative PIC technology,” said Infinera Vice President of Customer Service and Corporate Quality Lonny Orona. “Infinera is focused on maintaining the highest standards of operating excellence.”
Infinera previously achieved ISO 9001 certification in 2007 and continues to maintain this certification. Since then, Infinera has worked to improve its business processes. There are some 50 additional requirements in a TL 9000 registration as compared to the ISO 9001 certification.
