DE-CIX’s top 3 resellers in 2017: RETN, Core-Backbone, and Fortex

We would like to say a special thank you to DE-CIX’s top 3 resellers of 2017: RETN, Core-Backbone, and Fortex!

They grew together with us, expanded their services, and brought by far the greatest number of new customers to our exchanges.

Connecting via resellers to DE-CIX is possible at more than 450 cities from 70+ countries worldwide. Very often, resellers connect networks to more than one DE-CIX exchange, e.g. since January 2018, RETN is also a reseller of DE-CIX Marseille and DE-CIX Madrid.

We would like to say thank you to all our resellers for the great job they have done – well done!

We look forward to another year of fruitful cooperation.

RETN: The European network of choice

RETN is one of the fastest growing leading independent European providers operating its own transboundary network, which extends across 34 countries and three continents, with a unique presence in Eastern Europe and Russia.

RETN rapidly grew into the top DE-CIX reseller by 2016 and became the first DE-CIX reseller offering its customers DE-CIX services based on a 200 GE peering port. Its customers can connect to DE-CIX in Frankfurt, New York, and lately also in Madrid and Marseille at more than 220 on-net PoPs.

Last year RETN launched new PoPs and routes throughout Europe (Madrid-Marseille; the shortest fiber connection Hamburg-Frankfurt etc.) and in Asia (Seoul), as well as actively developing metro network connectivity in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Amsterdam, London, and especially in Riga.

In 2018, RETN will continue to develop its network in Europe and expand further to the USA and Far East with direct end-to-end connections to Europe as a way of delivering better global connectivity and service. The network extensions and company growth will enable RETN to multiply points of connection to remote peering services to DE-CIX and sustain the high level of partnership.

Core-Backbone: Germany-based carrier with international network

The Germany-based carrier Core-Backbone operates an international, secure, and high-availability network around the world. It is possible to order their services in locations like London, Singapore, and New York. The product portfolio includes IP Transit, Layer2 Circuits, Remote Peerings, and premium DDoS Protection.

Core-Backbone has cooperated with DE-CIX since 2014 and is one of our Top3 resellers in Frankfurt and New York. The upgrade of their DWDM infrastructure in multiple locations is on the agenda for 2018.

Furthermore, establishing more Points-of-Presence in Central Europe, North America, and Asia is planned. The Core-Backbone Peering team will take part in several events like the European Peering Forum and Global Peering Forum to spread the idea of peering around the world.

Fortex

FORTEX CJSC has joined forces with its partner DWDM.RU LLC to successfully promote the service of remote connections to Internet Exchanges in Russian data centers, thereby making DE-CIX available for a variety of IT companies and Internet operators. FORTEX CJSC assists in the unification of cities and countries in the general hierarchy of the Internet.
