Media Advisory: Juniper Networks to Discuss the Automation and Security of Private, Public and Hybrid Clouds at AWS re:Invent

Juniper continues to simplify organizations' move to the cloud with the addition of AppFormix to the AWS Marketplace

November 22, 2017

SUNNYVALE, CA--(Marketwired - November 22, 2017) - Juniper Networks (NASDAQ:JNPR, news, filings), an industry leader in automated, scalable and secure networks, today announced details regarding its upcoming participation at AWS re:Invent, Amazon Web Services' annual user conference, as well as the availability of AppFormix software on the AWS Marketplace, enabling users to instantly access Juniper's intent-driven solution to simplify the operation and automation of dynamic cloud environments.

At AWS re:Invent, Sumeet Singh, vice president of engineering at Juniper Networks and founder of AppFormix, will lead a session that explores how AWS users can leverage industry-leading AppFormix software, which is powered by machine learning, to gain visibility into all applications running in AWS, including Juniper's vSRX Virtual Firewall and vMX Virtual Router in real-time. AppFormix software enables users to balance applications across various layers of the cloud infrastructure, including compute, storage and network layers.

Combining Juniper's AppFormix software with its vSRX Virtual Firewall, Juniper allows cloud architects and operators to build scalable hybrid clouds to assure cloud environments are secure, reliable and responsive to the needs of applications. Sumeet's session, titled "Monitoring Built for vSRX Hybrid Clouds with AWS," will highlight how AppFormix effectively mitigates and remediates applications' reliability issues before they impact users.

The conference will be held at The Venetian in Las Vegas from November 27 to December 1. Subject matter experts from Juniper Networks will be on-hand to offer live demonstrations of AppFormix, as well as Juniper's integration with Alexa and the company's cloud-native vSRX transit VPC solution. Demonstrations will take place in booth #2526 at The Sands Expo and Convention Center.

Session Highlights:
Monitoring Built for vSRX Hybrid Cloud Architecture with AWS
Speaker: Sumeet Singh, vice president, cloud analytics at Juniper Networks and founder of AppFormix
When: Tuesday, November 28 from 1:40-1:55 p.m.
Where: Venetian, Level 1, Expo Hall Kumo Theater
Details: Running a virtual firewall like vSRX is a great way to protect your workloads running across private, public and hybrid cloud architecture. It provides scalable, secure protection across your on-premises environments, as well as public clouds like AWS. But the problem remains, how do you monitor those cloud-native applications in real-time so that service levels are assured by mitigating problems before they start impacting users? In this live demonstration, Juniper will show how AWS users can use AppFormix to monitor the vSRX and their applications in real-time. Juniper will also demonstrate how AppFormix can automatically add or remove instances of vSRX to meet the dynamic demand for the application, all happening in real-time, remediating issues before they impact users, all while protected by the vSRX Virtual Firewall.
