On October 30th, the Futurecast series will host a conversation about technology and emergency response in the wake of recent hurricanes in the US and Caribbean.

Futurecast is a series of interactive discussions hosted by Ericsson, AT&T Foundry and TechCrunch contributor, Andrew Keen that brings together leaders from the worlds of technology, government, business and beyond. The October 30th event will be held at the Texas Medical Center Innovation Institute and will explore how the Houston healthcare community used innovative solutions to help ensure that people were safe, connected, and informed during hurricane Harvey.

Hurricane Harvey hit the coast of Texas on August 25th and set US records for the amount of rainfall during single storm. The total cost of the hurricane has been estimated to exceed USD 75 billion.

As part event Dwight Witherspoon, Head of External Communications and Branding for Ericsson Silicon Valley will sharing his first-hand account of being on the ground on the island of Dominica to bring in relief efforts in the wake of Hurricanes Irma and Maria.
