Verizon customers with family and friends in Mexico can connect for free following powerful earthquake

NEW YORK – Following Tuesday’s devastating earthquake in Mexico, Verizon is supporting customers with loved ones potentially impacted by this terrible tragedy by offering free wireless and wireline calling from the U.S. to Mexico to help connect them with family and friends.

“For the second time in just two weeks, residents of Mexico are recovering from another devastating earthquake,” said Tami Erwin, Executive Vice President, Verizon Wireless Operations. “We know how important it is for our customers to be able to connect with their loved ones and we want them to know we are here for them.”

Home wireline telephone customers will incur no charges to Mexico from their U.S. landlines beginning at 12:01 a.m. on Wednesday, September 20, through Friday, September 22, 2017 (applicable taxes and surcharges will apply).
Wireless post-paid customers will incur no charges for texts or international long distance calls originating from the U.S. to Mexico beginning at 12:01 a.m. on Wednesday, September 20, through Friday, September 22, 2017 (applicable taxes and surcharges will apply).
“Our thoughts are with the people of Mexico and our customers here in the U.S. who are worried about family and friends,” said Ken Dixon, Senior Vice President, Wireline Operations for Verizon. “We want our residential landline customers to know they can pick up the phone and dial directly to find loved ones potentially affected by this devastating earthquake, without expense.”

Tras el devastador terremoto del martes en México, Verizon está apoyando a sus clientes con seres queridos que hayan posiblemente sido impactados por esta tragedia ofreciendo llamadas de línea fija y llamadas y textos móviles de forma gratuita desde los Estados Unidos a México para conectarlos con sus familiares y amigos.

“Por segunda vez en dos semanas, los residentes en México se están recuperando de otro devastador terremoto”, dijo Tami Erwin, Vicepresidenta Ejecutiva de Operaciones de Verizon Wireless. “Sabemos lo importante que es para nuestros clientes poder conectarse con sus seres queridos, y queremos que sepan que estamos aquí para ellos.”

Los clientes de telefonía residencial no incurrirán cargos por sus llamadas a México de línea fija comenzando a las 12:01 a.m. el miercoles 20 de septiembre hasta el viernes 22 de septiembre del 2017 (se aplicarán los impuestos y recargos correspondientes).
Los clientes del servicio pospagado no incurrirán en cargo alguno por enviar textos o realizar llamadas de larga distancia internacional desde EE.UU. a México comenzando a las 12:01 a.m el miercoles 20 de septiembre hasta el viernes 22 de septiembre del año 2017 (se aplicarán los impuestos y recargos correspondientes).
​“Nuestros pensamientos están con la gente de México y con nuestros clientes aquí en los Estados Unidos quienes están preocupados por sus familiares y amigos,” dijo Ken Dixon, Vicepresidente de Operaciones de Telefonía Residencial para Verizon. “Pueden levantar el teléfono y marcar directamente para encontrar a sus seres queridos que posiblemente hayan sido afectados por este devastador terremoto, sin gastos.”
