Sprint Announces More Than 200 New Jobs in Minnesota by the End of 2017

Jobs and Investments are Part of Sprint’s Regional Approach Dedicated to Improving Customer Service

EDINA, Minn. (BUSINESS WIRE), November 10, 2016 – Sprint (NYSE:S, news, filings) today announced the expansion of Sprint’s investment in Minnesota, which will add more than 200 new jobs by the end of 2017. Sprint is looking to fill 50 new positions in the next few months, and 150 new positions by the end of 2017.

Across Minnesota, Sprint currently employs more than 300 employees and has more than 69 stores. Today’s announcement not only increases headcount but also increases Sprint’s investment through network upgrades, distribution points and marketing efforts.

“Due to our large success in Minnesota over the past year, we’re expanding our distribution points to better serve our customers,” said Mike McMahon, Sprint president of the Great Plains region. “We’re committed to hiring the very best sales talent and investing in their careers. The majority of our retail positions are located in the Twin Cities metropolitan area, and many are accessible by public transportation.”

The additional 200 new jobs include retail and business sales positions to serve more wireless customers. The available positions cross all skill levels and will be located throughout the state of Minnesota. Residents interested in applying for open positions should visit the following sites:

Sprint is a part of Joining Forces, a White House initiative aimed at expanding employment and career development opportunities for veterans and military spouses, and have committed to hiring 2,500 military veterans during the next five years.

Sprint’s military recruitment program focuses on hiring veterans, members of the Reserve and National Guard, as well as active members in the military and their spouses or other family members. Additionally, Sprint assists veterans in their transition to the civilian workforce through the VETS (Veterans and Employees helping others Through Sprint) employee resource group (ERG). The VETS ERG provides professional development and mentoring opportunities and has more than 800 members nationwide.
