GLOBAL INTERNET SERVICE PROVIDER SELECTS ZAYO FOR METRO DARK FIBER

Customer to leverage dense metro footprint in Canada

BOULDER, Colo. – November 1, 2016 – A global internet service provider has selected Zayo Group Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: ZAYO) for metro dark fiber infrastructure to replace services from legacy providers and expand their network to new locations. The solution leverages Canadian fiber assets from Zayo’s recent Allstream acquisition and the resulting unique cross-border connectivity.

The customer, one of Zayo’s largest metro dark fiber customers in the U.S. and Europe, will consolidate services from legacy providers in Canada to Zayo and add additional network locations. With Zayo’s extensive on-net connectivity to enterprise buildings in Toronto and more than 5,500 route miles in multiple Canadian cities, deployment of the dark fiber solution can begin immediately. The 20-year agreement will predominantly leverage existing Zayo network assets in Canada and the U.S.

“Zayo’s unique Pan Canadian/U.S. capability and dense metro footprint enabled us to grow the relationship with this customer as they expand their global dark fiber networks,” said Mike Strople, managing director, Canada at Zayo. “Dark fiber provides them with the ability to scale as they grow.”

With data traffic growing at unprecedented rates, internet and content providers are upgrading networks and infrastructure to meet the demand for bandwidth. Zayo continues to benefit from the adoption of dark fiber and other high-capacity, low-latency solutions.
