Infrastructure provider CityFibre, has named Bracknell as the UK’s next Gigabit City as it launches its ultra-fast connectivity in partnership with Berkshire-based IT and telecoms company, BtL Communications
12th October 2016 – Just four weeks after Reading’s Gigabit City launch, Bracknell has been selected to join CityFibre’s growing ranks of Gigabit Cities as the company continues to introduce fibre infrastructure competition nationwide.
For the first time, businesses in Bracknell will have the opportunity to access a new generation of ultrafast internet services over the network. Provided by CityFibre’s launch partner BtL Communictions, these market leading, affordable internet services will provide local businesses with some of the fastest download and upload speeds in the world, improving their productivity and providing a significant competitive advantage. BtL will also use these ultra-fast internet services to support an innovative range of cloud and communication solutions.
The Gigabit City network will totally transform Bracknell’s digital infrastructure, enabling access to gigabit speed, world class connectivity for the entire community and dramatically accelerating its digital capabilities. It will future-proof the town as the thirst for greater bandwidth continues to grow exponentially over the coming decades. Many of CityFibre’s other Gigabit City projects are already demonstrating the huge economic and social benefits pure fibre infrastructure can deliver.
