DALLAS–(BUSINESS WIRE)–

Global colocations solutions provider CyrusOne (CONE) is pleased to announce the purchase of land located at 32W 130 Molitor Road, Aurora, Ill. The approximate 23 acres is located adjacent to the suburban Chicago data center CyrusOne acquired from CME Group earlier in April. The newly purchased parcel of land is planned for development over the next several years, and is expected to leverage a shared ecosystem with CyrusOne’s existing Aurora facility, including connectivity to the CME Globex global trading platform and a massive 90-MW substation.

CyrusOne’s acquisition of the current Aurora data center in April expanded CyrusOne’s portfolio to more than 30 data centers across the United States and overseas. The sale-leaseback transaction included a 428,000-square-foot facility, 15 acres of developable land, and provided customers involved in the global financial markets with connectivity and proximity to the CME Globex platform.

The Aurora data center is located in suburban Chicago. A high-speed, high-capacity network connection is available directly to downtown Chicago’s telecommunications hub, with a strong network offering to accommodate customers with specific latency and/or replication needs. As part of CyrusOne’s National IX (Internet Exchange) platform, the Aurora data center will supply interconnection to other CyrusOne data centers.
