Frontier Communications Appoints Crosby Smith as Area General Manager for Low-Desert Territory

LOS ANGELES & PALM SPRINGS, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)– Frontier Communications Corporation (NYSE:FTR, news, filings) has named Crosby Smith, a recognized sales and operations telecommunications leader, as area general manager for its Southern California low desert operating area, which includes over 100 cities and communities across Riverside County, the Inland Empire and the Coachella and Imperial Valleys.

Smith will be responsible for operations, community engagement and market growth, while overseeing delivery of broadband, video, and voice services to more than 600,000 households and businesses. He will be based in Palm Springs and report to Trent Anderson, senior vice president of Frontier’s Southern California Eastside territory, which encompasses major parts of Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino and Kern Counties.

Prior to joining Frontier, Smith served as vice president and general manager of Black Box Network Services western region, where he started in 2005. At Black Box, Smith successfully integrated several large IT infrastructure and service organizations into the company’s west region business. He led a team of more than 600 in 24 states, managing sales, delivery and service organizations. From 1991 to 2005, Smith held several leadership positions for Norstan Communications, a provider of diversified telecommunications solutions.

Smith holds an MBA from the University of New Orleans and a Bachelor of Science in marketing from Louisiana State University. He resides in Palm Springs.
