Sprint Investment in the Pacific Northwest Comes to Life

Sprint goes big in the Pacific NW, expanding offices in Bellevue and Beaverton, building a new leadership team, creating more than 150 jobs and bringing Copa América Centenario international soccer to Seattle
SEATTLE (BUSINESS WIRE), June 02, 2016 – In the first five months of 2016, Sprint (NYSE:S, news, filings) continues its One Sprint localization strategy by making major strides in its Pacific Northwest expansion. The carrier has established new regional sales offices in Bellevue and Beaverton, and has added more than 150 jobs within the region, including 120 retail positions.

Sprint is also fueling the region’s passion for soccer as an official sponsor of Copa América Centenario, bringing the excitement of international soccer to CenturyLink Field in Seattle on June 4, 14 and 16. In addition, the regional team has made a donation to the Issaquah Soccer Club, a full service club serving families in Issaquah, Sammamish and surrounding communities.

“As Sprint continues its expansion into the Pacific NW, we will continue to open new stores and remain focused on delivering a world-class customer experience,” said Annette Jacobs, president-Pacific Northwest Region at Sprint. “We are rebuilding ourselves within the community through donations, sponsorships and direct involvement with charitable organizations, as we strive to be the carrier of choice in our hometowns.”

Newly Established Sales Leadership Team

Jacobs, who joined Sprint in November 2015, continues to build her team and announces three new sales directors to ensure Sprint customers in the region continue receiving the best experience. The Pacific Northwest territory includes Hawaii, Oregon, and Washington.

Linda Larsen, based in Bellevue, WA, has been named director, Retail Sales overseeing all corporate-owned retail stores in the region. Larsen joined Sprint in February after honing her extensive sales experience at Verizon, AirTouch and T-Mobile. She is responsible for consumer and small business wireless sales, as well as store profitability for more than 100 locations.
Eddie Ellard, based in Bellevue, WA, joined Sprint in March as director, Sales-Small & Medium Business (SMB). With previous experience at Verizon, MCI and F5 Networks, Ellard will be responsible for driving business sales growth in the Pacific Northwest and Hawaiian Islands.
Sandra Marconi, based in Beaverton, OR, has been appointed director, Sales-Indirect Distribution. Marconi has held sales leadership positions at Sprint for more than 19 years. She will oversee indirect distribution recruitment, development and management, working with local distribution and national retailers for the postpaid and prepaid businesses.
Strong Ties to Soccer

When the Copa América Centenario organizers were looking for a lead sponsor, Sprint jumped at the chance to bring the tournament to soccer passionate Seattle. Sprint is creating an immersive and engaging fan experience that will include an interactive digital wall, 360° photo booth where fans will get digital downloads of their photos for social sharing and charging stations. Additionally, Sprint will supply Copa América Centenario with Flag Bearers from the local community to lead the teams and referees onto the field at the start of each match.

In addition to bringing the excitement of Copa América Centenario, and to enrich the local community where its employees live and shop, Sprint has pledged a $10,000 donation to the Issaquah Soccer Club. Sprint has selected members of the Issaquah Soccer Club to participate as Flag Bearers for each match taking place in Seattle.

“We are grateful that a large company like Sprint has reached into the community and selected us to help build stronger ties to the community,” said Joe Yellig, executive director at Issaquah Soccer Club. “With the assistance offered from Sprint, we’ll continue to provide programs for all players and skill levels.”
