Increases Capabilities on its Broadband Super Highway Across Georgia
Clarkesville, GA – April 25, 2015 – NGN, a member-owned cooperative operating over 1,600 miles of fiber optic infrastructure in North Georgia, announces the addition of 100 Gigabits of capacity across its core fiber optic network. This new capacity on its Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) network, increases capabilities for the broadband superhighway that NGN built across the state of Georgia.
The new 100 Gigabits of capacity supports the increasing demand for higher bandwidth circuits and additional wavelengths from NGN’s nearly 8,000 subscribers including residential, small business, and carrier clients across North Georgia. Through this strategic network upgrade, NGN now has the capacity to continue to deliver world-class services and fulfill growing demand from carriers throughout the region.
