Sprint Beats T-Mobile on Network Reliability in Miami

Sprint’s Network Investment Strategy is Key to Continued Progress in Market-by-Market Wireless Performance

MIAMI (BUSINESS WIRE), March 08, 2016 – Sprint’s (NYSE:S, news, filings) analysis of network performance data from Nielsen, the world’s foremost authority on independent measurement, now shows that the Sprint network in Miami, Fla., is more reliable than T-Mobile for both voice and data service.1

The analysis is based on Nielsen’s testing of wireless performance for voice and data while driving more than 2,250 miles around Miami between September and November 2015. Nielsen’s reliability tests measure both accessibility and retainability of voice calls and data sessions. For example, it measures the ability of a voice call or download to initially connect to the network as well as maintain that network connection from start to finish.

In addition to offering strong reliability, Sprint is deploying some of the most advanced technologies in wireless such as carrier aggregation on the 2.5GHz spectrum band. This feature of Sprint’s super-fast LTE Plus Network creates a wider lane that allows more network traffic to travel at higher rates, enabling Sprint to provide Miami customers with even faster data speeds. In addition, Sprint has relentlessly focused on expanding and fine-tuning the network in Miami. In the past year, the company increased its capacity, and systematically optimized each cell site to maximize performance. Sprint also improved service and upgraded the wireless systems in key areas and venues such as Marlins Park, Sun Life Stadium, Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, Aventura Mall and American Airlines Arena.

“Network coverage and reliable service are among the top reasons wireless consumers stay with or switch carriers. Sprint is proud that the network investments we’re making are paying off for consumers throughout South Florida. They’re getting better voice and data reliability than T-Mobile and every day we getting closer to closing the wireless performance gap with the other wireless carriers too. Our superior network performance over T-Mobile in Miami combined with compelling offers like 50% off the competition, makes it a great time to give Sprint a try.”
