Forsythe Data Centers Employs Sunesys Dark Fiber Ring in Chicago

March 15, 2016 (Chicago, IL) – Sunesys, LLC, a leading provider of premium bandwidth services and private fiber optic networks, has deployed a diverse Dark Fiber (SunDF) network solution in the Greater Chicago area for Forsythe Data Centers. The Cook County connection is a dedicated, dark fiber ring from Forsythe’s enterprise colocation facility in Elk Grove Village to 350 E. Cermak, providing secure, private diverse paths to the downtown Chicago area.

Sunesys’ installed connectivity supports Forsythe’s state-of-the-art data center location, which includes Forsythe’s Technology Evaluation Center, an independent, multi-vendor test bed and demo facility. The colocation center in Elk Grove allows customers to connect to a carrier-neutral environment that offers unlimited bandwidth capacity to evaluate and support key IT decisions. The network circuit provides two strands of dedicated fiber that not only give customers access to Sunesys’ premier Dark Fiber, Ethernet, Wavelength and IP services in the Greater Chicago area, but also provide an access point to Forsythe Data Centers’ colocation and IT solutions, to spec, manage, and maintain infrastructure.

Sunesys looks forward to a continued relationship with Forsythe Data Centers. “Forsythe provides a host of IT, colo, business continuity and disaster recovery solutions to service the needs of our carrier, healthcare and enterprise customers,” states Sunesys’ Vice President, Alan Katz. “Moreover, these additional services require high-bandwidth WAN solutions like the dark fiber circuit Sunesys has installed. The ever-evolving world of application usage, coupled with security / privacy concerns, and a need for resiliency, means soaring bandwidth requirements and a drive for dedicated, diverse, connectivity. We continue to expand our portfolio as the foundation for these services.”

Sunesys is one of the leaders in dark fiber and private telecom networks in the communications industry for carrier network solutions. Dark fiber offers Forsythe Hosting Solutions the flexibility to deliver multiple types of transport services to our clients quickly at costs comparable to other providers,” said David Carlson, General Manager, Forsythe Hosting Solutions. “Sunesys has enabled us to design and construct redundant low latency fiber routes between the Forsythe Data Centers facility and one of the key carrier hotels at 350 E. Cermak.”

Sunesys, headquartered in Pennsylvania, currently operates over 16,000 fiber route miles in more than thirty states across the country. Sunesys’ entire footprint can be viewed online at www.sunesys.com/network-maps/ or by downloading the Sunesys App, available for iPhone and Android devices.
