AT&T Boosts Coverage For NCAA® Women’s Final Four® Championship

New 4G LTE Network Technology Gives Better Connection

Fans attending events at Bankers Life Fieldhouse, like the NCAA® Women’s Final Four® basketball championship, can now expect a better, more reliable mobile experience on the AT&T cellular network.

AT&T* has boosted its mobile Internet coverage at the Fieldhouse in downtown Indianapolis. To boost our network, we’re joining a third-party cellular antenna system at Bankers Life Fieldhouse that will give customers a better wireless experience.

This will benefit fans during the NCAA Women’s Final Four championship games and beyond.  There will also be strong coverage for upcoming pro basketball games, and at shows and concerts.

The antenna system works to provide a better cellular experience by adding capacity and density to our coverage in the Fieldhouse. This makes it less likely for calls, texts and posts to get stuck in a “traffic jam”.

“Championship games are full of excitement. Fans want to share the thrill of being there on their mobile device as the game unfolds,” said Matt Wolfert, NCAA® Director of Corporate Relationships, headquartered in Indianapolis. “The enhanced AT&T coverage at the Fieldhouse will heighten the fan experience – both now and in the future.”

“Bankers Life Fieldhouse is home to our 2 pro basketball teams and a wide range of spectacular events year round. The AT&T enhancement amplifies the great overall experience fans have come to expect at this world-class facility,” said Ed Frederici, Chief Technology Officer for Pacers Sports & Entertainment.

“When our customers head to Bankers Life Fieldhouse to cheer on their favorite team or enjoy a show, we want them to have a great network experience. We’ve improved our service so they can easily make a call, post pictures, download stats and more,” said Brian Ducharme, Vice President and General Manager, AT&T Great Lakes Region. “We’re continuing to invest in our wireless network to help customers stay connected.”

We invested nearly $2 billion in our wireless and wired networks in Indiana between 2012 through 2014. This drove a wide range of upgrades to reliability, coverage, speed and performance for residents and businesses.

We constantly invest in our network to give customers high-quality services. This helps Indiana residents get the best possible experience over the AT&T network, whether at home, at work or on the go.
