Inspiring a Woman a World Away – Paula Loyd’s Incredible Legacy

A woman who lost her life while serving with the United Nations in Afghanistan is having her legacy carried out through AT&T’s Peace Through Business.

You never know how your vision will inspire others.

Patricia Ward’s daughter, Paula, lost her life in Afghanistan. She spent time there while serving in the U.S. Army. She ended up back in Afghanistan as a Civil-Military Officer with the United Nations. And she loved it. She knew it was risky to work in the Middle East. However, she decided to follow her passion: helping those less fortunate. Paula told her mother that if anything ever happened to her, she would like to see her legacy carried out through the education of Afghan women.

Homa, a young Afghan woman, serendipitously came into contact with Paula’s mother. She is an entrepreneur, a graduate of AT&T’s Peace Through Business program and an example of the women Paula hoped would carry out her legacy.

See their story here and find out more about the Paula Loyd Foundation here.
