Interoute CTO wins top honour at the WCA Awards

Matthew Finnie named CTO of the year at World Communication Awards 2015

London, 03 December 2015Interoute, owner-operator of one of Europe’s largest networks and a global cloud services platform, has today announced that CTO, Matthew Finnie, has been named CTO of the Year at the 2015 World Communication Awards (WCA), the largest awards ceremony in global telecoms. Matthew received this acknowledgment at the Wembley Stadium awards ceremony on the 1st December, where his technical vision and track record were praised.

At the awards ceremony, Interoute Virtual Data Centre (VDC) was also Highly Commended in the Cloud Infrastructure award category. Interoute VDC offers a fully converged networked cloud computing platform, with 14 locations across the world.

Launched in 1999, the World Communication Awards are synonymous with innovation, merit and outstanding performance. This year’s entries were judged by a panel of 18, which included leading industry experts, analysts and independent industry consultants.

The judging panel’s key areas of focus for the CTO award were; customer experience – looking at how well the CTO had improved customer satisfaction and user-centric performance, technology prowess – in terms of future readiness and deployment of forward-looking technologies, and contribution to the creation of a compelling long-term and efficient operating model.

Interoute’s Matthew Finnie impressed the judges across all these areas, describing him as strong in innovation. He was behind Interoute’s unified ICT principle, its ICT multi-service platform and its cloud computing marketplace.

Commenting on the win Matthew Finnie said, “It’s a great honour to receive this award and I see it as a tribute to the great team of engineers, developers and product specialists we have at Interoute who are leading the industry in developing innovative ICT infrastructure solutions.
