Birch Intensifies Metro-Fiber Initiative, Adds 80,000 Buildings Across a 22-State Area

Company delivers bandwidth-rich services by aggressively expanding service footprint

Atlanta, Ga. – November 30, 2015 – Birch Communications, Inc., (“Birch”) a leading nationwide provider of communications, network and cloud services to small, mid-sized, enterprise and wholesale businesses, announced today that its latest Metro Fiber expansion adds another 80,000 new buildings across a 22-state area, bringing the total to more than 400,000 Metro-Fiber buildings nationwide.

With this expansion, Birch has increased the availability of its BirchLink Metro-Fiber service to a broad set of new and existing customers seeking to maximize their Internet service options through a full range of reliable and secure connectivity.  Customers can now access a business-class solution offering equal upload and download speeds up to 1Gbps.  Reliable Internet connectivity is critical to every business, and that is why Birch also offers an industry-leading SLA guarantee on its BirchLink Metro-Fiber service.

“Our approach is straightforward; we’re committed to providing a better access experience for businesses who need flexible bandwidth to respond to their modern and diverse application requirements,” said David Gibson, Vice President of Business Development at Birch.  “Birch is focused on equipping customers with value-oriented high-speed internet access solutions, enabling our customers to stay ahead of the curve as their needs evolve.”

In addition, Birch’s nationwide IP-Network now spans 44 major markets in 22-states and is comprised of 31,000 route-miles of fiber and more than 600 points of presence (POPs).  Birch has steadily invested in growing its physical network infrastructure in order to offer dedicated, symmetric, high-speed Internet services to meet its customers’ needs.

Vincent M. Oddo, President and CEO of Birch, said recently during the company’s Q3 ’15 Town Hall that a key focus in 2016 will be delivering more Metro-Fiber connected buildings across the country in order to reach new businesses with higher speed services.  “We’ve already had great sales success this year, and due to strong continuing demand for our services we’re moving at an even faster pace to expand our Metro-Fiber footprint,” said Oddo.  “Our customers require fast connections to be successful, and giving them the speed they need to conduct business as efficiently and securely as possible is crucial to our success.”
