WANRack to Deploy Advanced Fiber Optic Wide Area Network for the Weld County RE-3J School District

Multi-year agreement for fiber-optic services will utilize their 20 mile network across northeast Colorado

Lenexa, KS (August 4, 2015) – WANRack and Weld County RE-3J Schools launched the implementation of a 10 Gigabit Fiber Optic Wide Area Network (WAN) connecting schools within the district across 3 towns northeast of Denver. The advanced Fiber WAN will replace the district’s legacy microwave network.

“We are very pleased to be selected by Weld County RE-3J to implement this conversion. They had quickly outgrown their legacy microwave WAN and were looking for a long term solution to their bandwidth challenges. Our design will provide them unlimited growth potential and remove any bandwidth concerns for many years to come,” said Rob Oyler, President for WANRack. “Schools continue to be extremely impressed with our solutions and are demonstrating this by their choice of vendors. The students in those communities will now have access to a world class network allowing teachers to access platforms not previously accessible.”

WANRack specializes in providing Fiber Optic WANs to K-12 school districts nationwide. Their Dark Fiber and Lit Fiber solutions provide superior bandwidth, scalability, and security than traditional cable or telephone company offerings due to their unique design model. Districts realize ROI in both the short and long term.
“WANRack provided an affordable long-term solution for our network issues. We are going to be able to replace an aging wireless system with a modern high-speed network for less money than our current system,” said Todd Shahan, Director of Technology for Weld County RE-3J Schools. “The cost and scalability were the game changers for us. Both the school Board and staff is excited about this great leap forward with WANRack. They came in prepared and on budget. I highly recommend other districts look into WANRack.”
