Integra Delivers Connections to Amazon Web Services’ Direct Connect Service

Vancouver, Wash. – May 19, 2015 – Integra™, a provider of fiber-based, carrier-grade networking, communications and technology solutions, now offers customers connections to Amazon Web Services’ (AWS) Direct Connect service through its Integra Business and Electric Lightwave business units. As AWS Partner Network (APN) Partners supporting AWS Direct Connect, Integra Business and Electric Lightwave customers can take advantage of secure, low-latency access to AWS enterprise-level managed and hosted cloud services. With up to 1 Gbps connectivity over unique metro fiber routes, Integra delivers scalable, high-bandwidth connectivity between businesses and AWS across much of the Western US.

With its reliable, private accessibility to cloud services, Integra enables customers to bring their business-critical data and services into a trusted cloud infrastructure with AWS. More companies are looking to the cloud for increased business continuity and disaster recovery as cloud workloads are replicated many times and kept in geographically diverse locations.

Ease of collaboration across various offices and functions, business continuity, scalability and efficiency in IT costs and resources are some of the primary drivers for cloud implementation. Organizations in health care, education, government and the financial sector are among the major adopters of Integra’s business cloud services. IDG Enterprise’s 2014 Cloud Computing Study[i] found that 69 percent of enterprises have either applications or infrastructure running in the cloud today and that 24 percent of enterprise IT budgets in 2015 will be allocated to cloud solutions.

“For organizations looking to maximize the productivity of users and IT staff, direct connectivity to reliable, secure and cost-effective cloud services allows them to take full advantage of their IT and network investments and focus on their business,” said Mike Kozlowski, vice president of product management at Integra. “By delivering a scalable IT infrastructure and always-on service model, businesses can stay productive and agile without a large outlay of capital expenditures. Integra’s network and flexible array of services are built to enhance the capabilities and efficiency of cloud deployments and help our customers realize all the benefits cloud computing can deliver.”

APN Technology and Consulting Partners help customers establish connections between AWS Direct Connect locations and their datacenter, office, or co-location environment. The AWS Partner Network (APN) makes a broad set of services, partners, and support options easily available to AWS customers.
