XO Communications Extends Unified Communications Services with BroadSoft

XO business customers gain access to full range of hosted unified communications and mobile services

Gaithersburg, Md., April 7, 2015 – BroadSoft, Inc. (NASDAQ:BSFT, news, filings) today announced that XO Communications (XO) has deployed an enhanced suite of hosted unified communications (UC) services powered by BroadSoft UC-One®. The solution provides a full UC experience that enhances productivity for the increasingly mobile workforce by making voice, video, business directories, call logs and instant messaging and presence available on a single application.

With more than 10 million hosted and 750,000 mobile UC lines deployed globally, BroadSoft believes that it leads the market in developing and delivering innovative cloud UC services. By leveraging BroadSoft UC-One, XO business customers can rapidly benefit from the latest and most compelling unified communications capabilities without the upfront capital expenses or costly feature upgrades associated with premise-based systems.

“Fulfilling our mission to develop and deliver technologies that reimagine how workers communicate and collaborate requires forward-thinking partners, like XO Communications, that are equally committed to bringing innovative solutions to market that transform the end-user experience,” said Homayoun Razavi, managing director, North America, BroadSoft. “Our relationship with XO has continued to strengthen and grow over the 12 years the companies have worked together. We are thrilled to support an enhanced hosted PBX offering that further solidifies XO’s market-leading position as a cloud innovator.”

BroadSoft has succeeded in driving adoption of UC by making these services simple for partners such as XO to deliver, simple for businesses to work into their existing IT ecosystems, and simple for users to download and use. Business users leverage a single application for accessing a broad range of UC services (instant messaging and presence, multi-party voice and video collaboration, desktop and file sharing, etc.), and can carry this single identity across all mobile and PC devices, services and networks, including Windows, Mac, iOS and Android.

“The BroadSoft platform and cloud architecture enables XO to offer a solid portfolio of telephony and UC solutions,” said Jake Heinz, senior vice president of marketing and product at XO Communications. “The BroadSoft platform enables us to satisfy customer needs with everything from SIP Trunking and Hosted PBX to UC services and mobility services.”

Service providers have the flexibility to deploy BroadSoft hosted PBX and unified communications services via the BroadWorks® platform, or as a complete managed hosted service from BroadSoft’s cloud infrastructure, BroadCloud®.
