Junior Achievement Partners with Enventis to Support High School Competition

JA’s Regional Titan Competition to be held March 12 in Mankato

March 9, 2015 – Junior Achievement of Greater Mankato and Enventis will partner this week to provide local high school students an opportunity to showcase their entrepreneurial skills and have the chance to win college scholarships.  On Thursday, March 12, nearly 100 high school students from across southern Minnesota will compete at the Regional 2015 JA Titan event which will be held at South Central College.

JA Titan is a simulated competition in which high school students work in teams to create and run a fictitious company, demonstrating math and analytical skills to maximize profits and most effectively run the business in an interactive computer simulation. Students make decisions on price, production, marketing, capital investment, and research and development.

“Enventis is proud to continue its long history of supporting Junior Achievement by sponsoring the 2015 JA Titan Regional Competition,” said Jennifer Spaude, director of corporate communications at Enventis. “This event is a unique opportunity for young people to apply their learnings, business concepts and entrepreneurial thinking in a real-world, simulated business environment.”

Enventis is a long-time community supporter of Junior Achievement. In addition to financial support, Enventis employees donate their time and expertise teaching the JA curriculum to students in the classroom.

The top four teams will advance to the 2015 JA Titan State Competition to be held on May 6 in the Twin Cities. More than $5,000 in scholarships will be awarded at the regional competition in Mankato on March 12.
