BTI Systems CTO to Speak at OFC 2015

Dr. Robert Keys Will Participate in Workshop and Panel

OTTAWA and BOSTON, March 10, 2015

BTI Systems, an award-winning provider of cloud and metro networking software and systems to content and service providers around the world, today announced that Chief Technology Officer Robert Keys will be participating in a workshop and speaking on a Market Watch panel at OFC 2015. The conference will take place from March 22-26 at the Los Angeles Convention Center in Los Angeles, California.

Established more than 40 years ago, OFC is the largest global conference and exposition for optical communications and networking professionals. The 2015 show will feature topics including 100G network design and optimization, cloud and data center networking, and virtualization and software defined networking (SDN).

Dr. Keys will participate in the workshop titled “Flexible Optical Network, Technology Is Ready, But…” on the first day of the conference, Sunday, March 22 from 3:30 – 6:30 p.m. PDT. The workshop consists of a series of short talks from each participant, followed by a crowd engaging discussion. Dr. Keys’ presentation will focus on use cases for practical and fully managed Colorless and Directionless (CD) and even Contentionless (CDC) ROADM deployments.

Additionally, Dr. Keys will participate on a Market Watch panel titled “Monetization of Optical Networks – Need for New Business Models” on Wednesday, March 25 from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. PDT. Moderated by Andrew Schmitt, Principal Analyst at Infonetics Research, the session will explore topics including the key secondary monetization opportunities for carriers; the principal technology enablers; and best-practice strategies to meet customers’ unbundled, immediate, and short-term bandwidth needs. Dr. Keys’ talk will feature insights on an open SDN-enabled approach to service provider monetization.
