All things “Green” from Sprint this St. Patrick’s Day

By Amy Johnsonbaugh

Look around in the days leading up to St. Patrick’s Day and you’re sure to see green – green beer, food dyed green, green clothing, the list goes on. Sprint carries wireless devices that are not only the color green but also environmentally friendly, aka “green.” And, if you want to save some green, check out our Cut Your Bill offer.

Green Colored Devices & Accessories
Sure, most smartphones are black, white or silver. But Sprint does offer mobile phones to show off your personality, including blue, red and yes, even green. iPhone 5c from Sprint comes in a variety of colors, including green.

Available in green, the Plantronics® BackBeat FIT wireless stereo headphones provide all the power, safety features, and premium audio you need to stay motivated and moving, indoors or out.

Protect your iPhone with a stylish green phone case, including: Otterbox Defender – iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus; Ballistic Urbanite Series Case – iPhone 6; or Mophie Juice Pack Helium – iPhone 5 and iPhone 5s.

Eco-Friendly Devices
Nearly 85 percent of all Sprint postpaid and prepaid phones were UL 110 certified by the end of 2014, with 61.4 percent of them certifying at the Platinum level, including Samsung Galaxy S® 5 and Samsung Galaxy S® 5 Sport and Samsung Galaxy Note® Edge, LG G3, LG G Flex, HTC One® M8 and HTC One® M8 Harman Kardon edition.

We require all phones to go through the independent UL 110 assessment process, and those that qualify earn UL 110 certification. We have the greatest selection of phones independently certified to UL 110 of any company in the world, so it’s easy for our customers to choose a phone that meets both their communications needs and environmental expectations.

Making a Difference
The EPA estimates 135 million cellphones are discarded each year, with only 11 percent being responsibly recycled as consumers upgrade to new models. But the good news is Sprint customers have recycled more than 67 million devices since 2001 and for the fourth straight year, Sprint has been recognized as having the best phone buyback and trade-in program among all major U.S. carriers by Compass Intelligence. Sprint also broke the Guinness World Record for the number of cell phones recycled in a single week back in 2013 – smashing AT&T’s record. Our customers do a great job bringing their devices back when they move to their next device and Sprint rewards them by matching any major U.S. competitor phone trade-in price.
