Alpheus Communications and GVTC Communications Sign NNI Agreement

Connections with Alpheus network will provide extensive coverage and connectivity to GVTC clients in major Texas markets

HOUSTON, TX – February 18, 2015 – Alpheus Communications today announced the signing of a network-to-network interface (NNI) agreement with GVTC Communications – giving the San Antonio area full-service communications provider two NNI connections – to expand its network coverage and ensure redundancy throughout central and southern Texas via Alpheus’ high-quality fiber network.

Alpheus owns and operates one of the most extensive fiber networks in Texas and has invested in the wide deployment of Ethernet services, reaching over 129,000 Ethernet-qualified locations in the state. GVTC will leverage Alpheus’ network to deliver services to a broader customer base throughout Texas.

“When evaluating NNI partners for serving our Texas customers, we wanted to ensure we chose a partner that placed emphasis in the same values we do as a business – superior customer service and reliability,” said Josh Pettiette, GVTC vice president of product, business development & strategic planning. “The combination of our capabilities and Alpheus’ deep Texas footprint gives us the network to expand our services to meet the needs of our current and future customers in Dallas, Houston, San Antonio and Austin.”

The NNI agreement between Alpheus and GVTC illustrates the growing trend of multi-location enterprises deploying MPLS and Ethernet networks for mission-critical applications. GVTC will leverage their NNI connections with Alpheus to focus on serving customers in key Texas metropolitan service areas (MSAs), including municipalities, school districts, financial institutions and government.

“We understand the critical need for GVTC to ensure their customers run on a backbone that is reliable and has potential for network and service expansion,” said Alpheus senior vice president of sales Matt Milliron. “We pride ourselves on the fact that our fiber network is one of the most extensive in Texas and our Ethernet service is widely available in major metro markets to deliver data, voice and video solutions. We are very pleased to partner with GVTC with this NNI agreement and uphold their mission to deliver superior services to their clients.”
