Integra Extends Focus on Strategic Markets with Electric Lightwave and Integra Business

Business units tailor sales, services and customer experience to distinct markets, align fiber network solutions with market needs

Vancouver, Wash. – January 13, 2014 – Integra™, a supplier of fiber-based, carrier-grade networking, communications and technology solutions, has established two new business units to best serve the needs of business customers in the mid-market and enterprise segments. Accelerating the company’s long-term strategy of building upon its unique and expansive network assets, the two new units, Integra Business and Electric Lightwave, will offer customers a host of benefits, including:

  • An enhanced, tailored customer service experience, led by dedicated resources;
  • A holistic account management approach, with local contacts focused on addressing the ongoing needs of their customers;
  • A more aggressive network investment strategy, applying Integra’s strong financial position and network development skills to expand its fiber assets to deliver custom solutions for complex networks.

Electric Lightwave will serve Integra’s largest customers in the enterprise markets, as well as government and education organizations and the company’s wholesale carrier customers. To support its mission of providing complex, ultra-reliable network infrastructure solutions to enterprises and other large organizations, Electric Lightwave will incorporate an aggressive focus on expansion and utilization of Integra’s fiber assets.
Integra Business will serve the company’s mid-market customers. With dedicated account personnel and a customized service and care structure, this unit will focus on delivering a highly differentiated end-to-end experience to its targeted customer segment.

Each business unit will employ its own sales and customer support organizations, strategically organized to tailor the service experience to the distinctive needs of its respective customers. Both organizations will offer Integra’s complete portfolio of products and services and leverage the company’s extensive network of long-haul and metro fiber assets throughout the western U.S.

“The market for high-bandwidth communication services is not one-size-fits-all, and with that in mind, we continue to evolve our sales and service models to deliver dedicated and personalized service, making us even easier to do business with,” said Robert Guth, interim CEO of Integra. “The creation of these dedicated business units advances our ongoing objective to extend the availability and use of our advanced network infrastructure. Importantly, these steps also put the decision-making on network investment opportunities even closer to our customers, helping accelerate the growth of our already-impressive network of 3,000 on-net buildings fed by 9,400 miles of owned fiber.”

In an industry environment of consolidation and centralization, Integra is redoubling its commitment to local, flexible resources. With assets and coverage that put it among the largest of the independent telecommunications and managed services providers, Integra will continue to demonstrate, through this targeted approach, its unique capability to provide robust solutions to address its customers’ most complex needs.

Integra veteran Dan Stoll, who previously served as the company’s senior vice president of strategy and development, will serve as president of Electric Lightwave. The president of Integra Business will be announced in the near future. Product and service information for Integra Business and Electric Lightwave can be found online at integratelecom.com.
