Cerner Corp., a Kansas City-based healthcare information technology company, and Sprint business customer have raised more than $108,000 for the company’s foundation through Sprint’s phone take back program.
Since 2012, Cerner associates have raised over $108,000 for First Hand Foundationby having many of its more than 15,000 employees donate approximately 7,400 used mobile devices through the Sprint Buyback Program. As a result of the donations, more than 8,500 students in 45 Kansas City elementary schools have received free health screening exams. First Hand Foundation is the charity supported by Cerner associates through payroll deduction, fundraising and other partnerships.
At Cerner’s Continuous Campus recently, Sprint presented the $108,459 check to First Hand Foundation. During the check presentation, Joe Traul, central regional sales manager for Sprint, challenged Cerner to reach $200,000 in recycling donations within the next 12 months. So far, Cerner associates have already generated an additional $120,000.
Sprint offers the best value for trade-ins through its award-winning buyback program, meeting all major U.S. carriers’ pricing. Sprint also works with corporate liable customers to ensure they understand the value in their old devices. That device credit can then be used towards new devices, or as in Cerner’s case, it can be used to raise money for a charity of choice. The collaboration with Cerner has been Sprint’s most successful buyback-for-charity program to date.
