Vantage Teams with Zayo to Expand Cloud Direct Connect Offering

Santa Clara, Calif. – October 21, 2014 – Vantage Data Centers (Vantage), a leading provider of data center solutions in support of mission-critical applications, today announced that it has signed an agreement with Zayo Group, LLC (“Zayo”), an international provider of fiber-based bandwidth infrastructure and carrier-neutral colocation facilities, to expand its direct connect cloud offering.

Through the agreement, customers in Vantage’s Santa Clara data center will have the ability to access Zayo’s Connect to the Cloud platform, a program enabling connectivity to more than 15 leading cloud providers, including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Rackspace and SoftLayer. Customers will also gain access to over 500 data centers worldwide through Zayo’s network. The benefits of a direct connection include reduced latency for mission-critical applications and lower bandwidth costs.

“For our customers, the question is no longer cloud or datacenter—their needs more often require a hybrid solution spanning both,” said Chris Yetman, Senior Vice President of Operations for Vantage Data Centers. “By establishing direct connectivity through Zayo’s Connect to the Cloud platform, Vantage customers can connect their data center and cloud infrastructure with better performance and lower costs.”

“We welcome Vantage customers to our Connect to the Cloud platform,” said John Real, Vice President of Strategic Partnerships at Zayo. “We look forward to a continued relationship with Vantage, and the opportunity to work with an extended customer base.”

Zayo has provided connectivity to the cloud since 2011, specifically direct bandwidth up to 10G through AWS Direct Connect. The Company offers multiple options to connect to the cloud including Ethernet, IP VPN, and wavelengths up to 10G. Zayo’s fiber-optic network extends more than 81,000 route miles and includes more than 15,000 on-net buildings, providing connectivity to the majority of data centers and carrier hotels in the U.S.

Vantage’s campuses in Santa Clara and Quincy, Washington, include four enterprise-grade data centers totaling over 100MW of potential capacity. The company’s highly reliable, energy efficient facilities, coupled with advantageous utility costs, provide customers with significant total cost of ownership advantages.
