Get the all-new, slim Pocket WiFi, exclusively at Sprint in the U.S., for $0 Down and Save Up to $60 a Month on the Sprint Family Share Pack

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. (BUSINESS WIRE), October 28, 2014 – Taking the high-speed data capabilities of Sprint Spark™ with you is more affordable than ever with the launch of the Pocket WiFi mobile hotspot paired with the Sprint Family Share Pack.

Beginning Friday, Oct. 31, Pocket WiFi will be available exclusively in the U.S. at Sprint direct ship sales channels, including Sprint Stores, Sprint Business Sales, Web Sales and Telesales at 1-800-SPRINT1. With Sprint Easy PaySM, well-qualified buyers can purchase Pocket WiFi with $0 down (plus tax) and 24 monthly payments of $9 (SRP: $216; excluding taxes; service plan required).

Pocket WiFi can be added to a Sprint Family Share Pack for a $20 per month per line access fee. Through December 2015, Sprint will waive the $20 per month access charge on Pocket WiFi or other eligible mobile broadband devices added as a new line of service to any Sprint Family Share Pack 20GB or higher.1

The Sprint Family Share Pack is the best value for families with a new shared-data plan that offers double the high-speed data at a lower price than AT&T and Verizon Wireless on nationally available plans. A family with up to 10 lines can get 20GB of shared data and unlimited talk and text for only $100 a month through 2015.1 For a family of four, that’s a savings of $60 per month versus AT&T’s and Verizon’s current pricing through 2015; double the data of AT&T and Verizon; and double the high-speed data of T-Mobile.2

Pocket WiFi can also be activated on one of the Sprint mobile broadband data plans. Options include 3GB for $35; 6GB for $50; 12GB for $80; and 30GB for $110 (all data amounts are while on the Sprint network and all pricing excludes taxes and surcharges). Customers are able to view their data usage by logging into My Sprint at www.sprint.com.

“Whether it’s on the go with family vacations, business travel or everyday life, Pocket WiFi is an essential tool that puts the power to connect to the Web when you want and need in the palm of our customers’ hands,” said Doug Kaufman, director-Device Strategy, Sprint. “More important, adding Pocket WiFi to the Sprint Family Share Pack gives our customers an easily affordable way to use high-speed Internet access nationwide without having to worry about finding public Wi-Fi access, the security hazards of public Wi-Fi, or paying expensive hotel rates to use your laptop or gaming console.”

Pocket WiFi is built by ZTE on Linux 3.1 and supports up to 10 Wi-Fi enabled devices simultaneously. It also includes a 2.4-inch color touchscreen display for easy navigation and 2,700mAh lithium-ion battery to power the mobile hotspot throughout the day.

Measuring 4.57 inches × 2.44 inches × 0.55 inches and weighing 5.3 ounces, Pocket WiFi easily slips into a pocket, so it can be taken just about anywhere.

Sprint Spark

The Sprint 4G LTE network serves 540 cities, making it easy for customers to take advantage of all the great features of Pocket WiFi. In addition to the all-new Sprint 3G network and its 4G LTE network, Sprint is deploying Sprint Spark, a technology that is built for data and new generations of online gaming, virtual reality and advanced cloud services. It enables stutter-free video chat on-the-go and mobile gaming that leaves lag behind.

Available in 46 cities across the country, Sprint Spark is an enhanced LTE service that delivers average wireless speeds of 6-15Mbps and peak wireless speeds of 50-60Mbps today on capable devices, with increasing speed potential over time.3 Sprint is on track to reach 100 million Americans by year-end with Sprint Spark.
