EarthLink Selects Bandwidth to Deliver Nationwide 9-1-1

Bandwidth to provide Emergency Services to all EarthLink endpoints nationwide.

Raleigh, North Carolina – October 23, 2014 (BUSINESS WIRE) – Bandwidth, one of the nation’s leading communications technology companies, today announced that EarthLink (EarthLink Holdings Corp., NASDAQ: ELNK) will utilize Bandwidth’s nationwide Emergency Services network to manage 9-1-1 routing for all of its business and residential endpoints nationwide.

As one of the nation’s leading managed network and cloud solutions providers for multi-location businesses, EarthLink needed a provider that could offer a nationwide 9-1-1 network, delivered in a cost-effective, efficient and seamless fashion. By working with Bandwidth to manage its 9-1-1 services across the country, EarthLink is now able to collapse multiple databases into one, thereby freeing up more resources to focus on customer satisfaction and other core business goals.

The Bandwidth IP-based network is built on operational efficiency, allowing EarthLink to leverage Bandwidth’s consolidated nationwide database of customer endpoints and nationwide emergency call routing platform. The end result is a more efficient way of servicing customers, while providing them extremely reliable emergency services.

With the 9-1-1 landscape continuing to evolve, more companies are leveraging Bandwidth’s expertise in emergency services, allowing them to focus more resources on other pressing issues, such as customer acquisition, retention and engagement.

This deal marks a major expansion of the Bandwidth-EarthLink relationship, as Bandwidth has provided 9-1-1 services to the company in various capacities since 2010.

“For a provider the size of EarthLink to rely on us for their 9-1-1 response, it speaks to the trust and confidence they have in our network,” said Steve Leonard, EVP and General Manager at Bandwidth. “We’ve worked hard to become a provider that companies can depend on, with the speed and efficiency to manage critical services in seconds, not days. We’re delighted to expand our relationship with EarthLink and continue to provide the highest quality 9-1-1 services that EarthLink has come to trust.”

“9-1-1 call handling is a critical component of all of EarthLink’s voice services, including both TDM and VOIP applications,” said John Dobbins, EVP of Network Operations, EarthLink. “Bandwidth’s solution meets all of the public safety requirements for our customers and also allows us to deploy the next-generation IP voice applications that our customers demand.”
