Frontier Communications Announces Edward O’Connor Jr. as Sales Vice President for Connecticut

STAMFORD, Conn.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Frontier Communications Corporation (NYSE:FTR, news, filings) a leading provider of communications services throughout 27 states and headquartered inConnecticut since 1946, announced today the appointment of Edward H. O’Connor Jr. as Sales Vice President forConnecticut. The appointment follows from Frontier’s agreement to acquire AT&T’s wireline business, statewide fiber network, and U-verse video and satellite operations inConnecticut. The transaction is expected to be completed during the fourth-quarter of 2014. O’Connor reports toPaul Quick, Senior Vice President and General Manager for Frontier’sConnecticut operations.

O’Connor is based in New Haven and will oversee all activities of the Connecticut Sales team, including identifying new business opportunities, developing strategic proposals for key accounts, and ensuring Sales “Puts the Customer First” by offering solutions targeted to their needs. O’Connor will manage wholesale, commercial and residential sales and be involved in customer service and technical operations. Additionally, he will take a lead in making local engagement in the community an ongoing priority.

A resident of Branford, Connecticut, O’Connor draws on 24 years of experience in telecommunications sales and service, beginning in 1990 as a Sales Manager/Account Manager for Southern New England Telephone. Most recently he served as Vice President of Network Sales, B2B markets, for Total Communications Inc. Prior to that he was Director/Vice President of Sales for Verizon/MCI/Worldcom and Sales Manager for the Connecticut/New England Region for Brooks Fiber Communications. He is a recognized leader in telecommunications, a frequent speaker and panelist at industry events, and the recipient of many awards and other recognition for his sales and service performance. He has numerous certifications in technology and leadership and is an active member/participant in the Chamber of Commerce and the United Way. He has held a number of elected positions and is a retired Police Commissioner.
