Chad Kissinger to Deliver Keynote Speech at Cloud Developers Summit & Expo 2014

AUSTIN, TX – OnRamp, a leading high security and hybrid hosting provider specializing in HIPAA Compliant Hosting solutions, announced today that company Founder, Chad Kissinger, will deliver a keynote address at the Cloud Developers Summit & Expo (CDSE: 2014), October 2nd at 9:45am. The two-day event, hosted by the Cloud Computing Association, will take place at the Hilton Hotel in Austin, Texas, October 1-2, 2014, and will feature 60 sessions, panels and workshops focused on all aspects related to the cloud computing industry. In an address titled “HIPAA in the Cloud,” Kissinger will focus on how to effectively collaborate with cloud providers to achieve auditable compliance under the stringent guidelines of HIPAA and HITECH.

Kissinger, whose 20 years of experience in the IT industry and leadership in the development of OnRamp’s HIPAA compliant private cloud solutions, will provide his perspective on the issues associated with outsourcing the storage of critical healthcare data to cloud providers. Shortly after his keynote address on Day Two of CDSE, Kissinger will participate on a panel a discussion at 11am featuring the following individuals:

  • Russ Hertzberg, Vice President, Technology Solutions, Prime Care Technologies
  • Christine Heffernan, Industry Value Engineering, SAP
  • Joshua Haggerty, Director of Application Development, Kinetic Concepts
  • Jeff Zucker, CEO & Co-Founder, A|D Vault

“In a physical IT environment, the key components of a compute infrastructure (servers, switches, firewalls, etc.) are easily identified, and the safety of the data stored within this environment can be easily determined,” stated Kissinger. “In a cloud infrastructure, the location of these components, whether they are properly configured, and whether they even exist is not always clear. The distance the user experiences from the physical environment can cause limitations in their understanding of whether these components will meet HIPAA standards.”

Through his participation, Kissinger will emphasize the importance of working with knowledgeable IT providers that understand the law as outlined by HIPAA and HITECH and are making a concerted and well-documented effort to maintain the confidentiality, availability and integrity of protected health information in its many forms. In addition to covering Mobile Cloud, DevOps and Big Data topics, Kissinger’s talks will center on the Healthcare & Life Sciences, a special focus of the event based on the economic sector’s increased adoption of cloud based technologies in the past few years.
