Interoute positioned in Gartner Magic Quadrant
London, 17 July – Interoute, owner operator of Europe’s largest cloud services platform, today announced it has been positioned as a “Leader” in Gartner’s Cloud Enabled Managed Hosting Magic Quadrant, Europe, July 9, 2014.
Interoute’s CTO Matthew Finnie believes Interoute has received this recognition due to the unique capabilities it can offer customers thanks to the integration of Interoute’s pan European fibre optic network with its compute platform across its global data centres. Network ownership, Software Defined Networking (SDN) capability and scale has enabled Interoute to offer customers the ability to move workloads and data between international data centres for free through Interoute Virtual Data Centre (VDC). Interoute’s networked cloud platform also gives customers the ability to control exactly where data and applications are hosted, which is key for organisations that require strict compliance with data sovereignty regulations.

The Gartner report co-authored by analysts Tiny Haynes, Gianluca Tramacere, Lydia Leong, Gregor Petri, Douglas Toombs and Bob Gill says, “Leaders have proved they have staying power in this market, can frequently innovate on their existing products and can be relied on for enterprise-class needs. They have proved their technical competence and ability to deliver services to a wide range of customers.”
This is the latest in a number of reports indicating Interoute’s cloud hosting capability. In March 2014 Interoute received the highest rating, alongside Amazon, in the Gigaom Sector RoadMap: European cloud infrastructure market report¹.
