Gold Data Center in Sacramento Acquired by National Service Provider

Data center developer Gold Data Centers has recently sold a 30,000 square foot powered shell data center that it was developing into a Tier 3 mini-wholesale data center with 14,000 square feet of data center space with 3 megawatts of electrical power.

The location is in an established data center neighborhood in the Sacramento suburb of Rancho Cordova with access to 10 telecom fiber carriers and dual power feeds from 2 different sub-stations, and within a half mile to over a dozen data centers.

This data center was a custom fit for a National internet and network service provider that will make this facility their primary Sacramento location. The service provider will be customizing the data center to meet their immediate and future needs in California. Where we already had 3 megawatts of power fed by 2 substations, it made it a great fit due to the redundancy from the electrical utility, SMUD.

“Currently, there are no available large wholesale data center spaces available in the Sacramento area and this transaction so soon after we acquired the facility is proof that there is customer demand for this offering. We are delivering a quality scalable data center solution to the many enterprise firms, data center operators and service providers with a need for this scalable and economically efficient product. The response so far has been tremendous and we are already looking forward to our next project, which is currently under contract”, said Bill Minkle of Gold Data Centers. TelAxis is listing agent for Gold Data Centers www.telaxis.com .
