Senior Vice President Sally Bament to Moderate Launchpad; Senior Director Ken Osowski to Participate in Panel on Cloud and Interconnection

OTTAWA and BOSTON – May 28, 2014

BTI Systems, an award-winning provider of cloud and metro networking software and systems to content and service providers around the world, today announced that senior executive Sally Bament and industry expert Ken Osowski will be participating at upcoming global industry conferences.

Bament, BTI’s Senior Vice President of Global Marketing, will moderate the Launchpad competition at Gigaom Structure 2014, which will take place June 18-19 at the Mission Bay Conference Center in San Francisco. The conference, whose theme is “The Cloud is the Computer,” will showcase the innovators and thinkers who are building the infrastructure to run the applications of the next decade.

Launchpad is Gigaom Structure’s start-up competition for innovative technologies in cloud computing, Internet infrastructure and Big Data. Bament will moderate the session, which will showcase seven finalists competing for top honors on Wednesday, June 18 at 5:00 p.m. PDT. Launchpad will also feature Tod Nielsen, Heroku’s CEO and member of BTI’s Board of Directors, as one of its judges.

Additionally, North Bridge, in partnership with Gigaom Research, BTI and other collaborators, will announce the results of its fourth annual Future of Cloud Computing Survey at Gigaom Structure. Similar to prior years, the 2014 survey results will reveal the drivers and inhibitors to cloud adoption, what applications are moving to the cloud, the reasons for this migration and the competitive implications for organizations to think strategically about cloud computing.

Osowski, BTI’s Senior Director, Solutions Marketing for carriers/service providers, will participate in a panel session at CommunicAsia2014, which will take place June 17-20 at the Marina Bay Sands in Singapore. The conference will focus on the evolving Info-Communications Technology (ICT) industry, concentrating on current market and technology trends such as Big Data, SDN and NFV, among others.

Titled “SDN and NFV for Telco and Data Centre Operators – How can They be Incorporated into the Business Model?” Osowski will explore the overall readiness of SDN, the market drivers for the telco and data centre industry, and the benefits of both SDN and NFV. The panel will take place on Wednesday, June 18 at 2:45 p.m. SGT. Osowski will be joined by experts from McKinsey and Company, Pacnet, PCCW Global and Epsilon.
